Southern Paws is a locally-owned pet boutique and “barkery” specializing in gourmet treats, pet accessories, toys, and so much more. Southern Paws has two locations, the original , located in the heart of the French Quarter at 633 Toulouse St., and the second at The Riverwalk Collection near The Four Seasons Hotel.

Michele Buckman opened Southern Paws in 2016, inspired by her now 7-year-old Goldendoodle, Marlie. All treats and toys are tested for Marlie’s “pup seal of approval.” You may even get lucky enough to meet them both while you shop.

The “barkery” offers beautifully decorated gourmet treats. Some favorites are the New Orleans treats, donuts, cannolis, and, of course, the holiday treats.

Have a tiny pup? Check out the small dog toys, collars, and training treats. You may even find a fashionable pet carrier or a suitable stroller.

If your pet is a diva, Southern Paws has it all for those high maintenance pups! Chewy Vuitton handbags and beds pair great with their jeweled collars and unique selection of designer-inspired toys.

Southern Paws loves celebrations. You are sure to find specialty cakes, cupcakes, ice cream, party hats, bandanas, and more for your pet’s Barkday or Gotcha Day.

They didn’t forget the felines! Locally made organic catnip mice, cat collars, and treats are a must in the Southern Paws Cat Corner!

Southern Paws has the best assortment of collars and leashes from fancy fleur de lis to spikes and studs—they have it all! Dogs and cats alike love the variety of bandanas and bow ties made by a local retired schoolteacher.
