If there’s one word to describe Liz Glaser Broekman, it’s passionate. The dynamic “girl on the geaux” joined Fidelity Bank in 2016 and one year later helped to launch P.O.W.E.R. (Potential of Women Entrepreneurs Realized), a unique, women-owned business initiative. “P.O.W.E.R. is my passion. I feel like it’s my way of connecting women who otherwise may not have met,” said Liz. The program offers networking opportunities, plus financial, educational and business resources, to its 1,500 members. In addition to quarterly luncheons and seminars, members are invited to attend smaller networking events typically held at a bank branch or a member’s business. “We keep the attendance to about ten women so it really gives members the opportunity to share more details of their challenges and needs. The best way to describe it is magical! It’s truly something powerful to be in a room filled with amazing women all helping each other to succeed.” Liz approaches all of her passions with vigor and devotion, and her fur babies are no exception. “During Covid, things were depressing; we began talking about getting a dog. I went to Zeus’ Place just to see a few dogs and came home with Zoe,” she said of the adorable three-year-old terrier. “Zoe and I had an immediate connection and I knew that she was meant to come home with me.” One year later, Liz’s husband Jason wanted a hunting companion, so Lola, a four-month-old Labrador, joined the family. “I can’t imagine life without our pups. They are part of the family and always love you no matter what.”
