Spring 2023 Pawscopes

We have all been a little closed-up for winter. Even if the weather is nice, our furry friends and us humans seem to slow down a bit during the colder months. Once those clocks move forward to when we get more daylight hours you can feel the stir within and the budding urge to start having some fun. We are so fortunate that there is so much to do here with our pets. I’m going to suggest some ways we can all enjoy the changing of the seasons to spring with our little love bugs. Our babies give us so much love and affection. Here are some ways we can reward them with activities and outings they’ll enjoy. All horoscopes are written for both born days and “gotcha” days, so whichever one you know will apply.

ARIES – The Aries personality is a fiery one and they absolutely love to be your number one and the focus of your attention. An activity that they would enjoy is a picnic in the park—just the two of you. This can even be a little backyard getaway. So long as you make a big fuss, they’ll be thrilled. Gaze into their eyes and give them snacks. Really, is anything more important than letting them know they’re the boss?

TAURUS – Oh my, Taurus sure do like the good life! One way that you can show them that you get that is to schedule them for a pet massage. Many vets now have licensed pet masseuses on staff, and it can really show them how much you understand and will cater to their needs. Plus they’ll be relaxed.

GEMINI – The sign of the twins is one of the most sociable of the pet signs. They like to mix and mingle and be with the cool kids. Not all animals favor humans, but they do and so I would consider taking them to one of our local bars that allow pets. Of course, keep them safe and always attended.

CANCER – Cancer, the sign of the crab, is a very homey sign. They love their creature comforts and to know that you care. Something that I do for my little four-footers, and you can for your baby too, is to make them homecooked meals. While I do all the cooking, they lend a paw by staying close by during the process and they love the end result of yummy, healthy food.

LEO – The lions of the Zodiac are filled with pride. They love the spotlight and will rarely if ever be shy. Of all of the signs I believe them to all be true actors who love all things costumey. True to our city, I haven’t met one who minded being dressed up. It doesn’t have to be Halloween or Mardi Gras to gussy up your baby and show them off as they deserve. You can give them their own private parade.

VIRGO – This will perhaps be my strangest suggestion but let me set the stage. Virgos are the most health conscious and sensitive of the signs. They feel every little ache and pain and are often the ones with sensitive tummies. The best activity to enjoy with them is a check-up or dental cleaning at the vet. Trust me, they will love you even more because you care.

LIBRA – See that little one over there looking lonely? That’s likely a Libra because they are naturally wanting a pal. It’s a sign that is meant to be partnered so if you don’t have a pair, it’s a good time to find them a playmate. Doggy daycares or cat cafés are places that can offer companionship for those who are looking for a part-time pal or consider adding to your fur family.

SCORPIO – Everything that you have ever heard about Scorpios is true: they are the most passionate of the signs and are known to be pretty darned sexy. For pets, my suggestion would be to take them to the groomer to be bathed and styled and scented. These babies are always on the lookout for love, so help them out by letting them look their best.

SAGITTARIUS – That silly little pup or puss who is always looking for adventure might very well be a little archer. These are the ones who, whenever you jiggle your keys, are up for anything. High-energy and ultra loyal, they have an innate love for travel and will be the perfect companions should you take them with you. Remember to bring carriers and leashes to always keep them protected.

CAPRICORN – Doggy and Kitty DNA tests, did you say? Why yes, I did. Your little goat is a pedigree at heart and has a huge reverence for history and genetics. They really do have these tests for them, and you can find out about their breed and background. While they may not be able to read the results, they will love that you know their lineage. It’ll be fun for you, too.

AQUARIUS – Always hip and ahead of their time, your Aquarius four-footer is a real humanitarian at heart and wants to be where the scene is at. Thankfully we have so many inviting coffee shops that are the perfect place for your baby to sit and philosophize with you. Always cool, calm and collected, your little water bearer will fit right in with the crowd of intellectuals sipping on their lattes.

PISCES – As the days start to get longer, we have more time to relax and enjoy after-work and weekend free time. Pisces love to relax and unwind and enjoy some lazy time with you. Very deep, soulful and intuitive, your pal knows that you need some downtime too. A wonderful place to clear your heads and get some rest is by the lake or river. Your sign of the fishes will love you for that.
